EMDR Therapy
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I provide EMDR therapy in Madison, WI and online EMDR therapy in WI and MN.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy modality that was developed as treatment to help process and resolve traumatic memories. EMDR therapy may be helpful for you if you are feeling "stuck" with certain past traumatic memories or traditional talk therapy hasn't been effective for you. It has been proven by the APA as an effective trauma treatment for PTSD.

How does EMDR work?
EMDR works to reduce somatic distress and negative beliefs about yourself by using bilateral stimulation (back and forth eye movements or tapping on alternate sides of your body). EMDR has eight phases that include targeting things from past distressing experiences, present symptoms, and supporting your future. EMDR targets negative beliefs about yourself, distressing body sensations, and traumatic experiences that still feel unresolved.
